Hernia

Gall bladder it is an organ present below the liver, it helps in storage of bile which helps in the digestion of fat taken in food. Most common problem or disease of gall bladder is presence of single or multiple stones of varying sizes. If there are multiple stones then surgery is must. But in solitary stones it depends whether stone is causing some problem or not and if the person is suffering from any other disease.

Common symptoms of Gall bladder stones are dyspepsia (acidity), pain on the right side of upper abdomen, jaundice.

This can be diagnosed most of the time with ultrasound, MRCP and some blood tests.

Treatment of this is surgery requiring removal of gallbladder along with stones. This surgery most of the time is done by laparoscope as the advantages are same as that of any other laparoscopic surgery like- tiny cuts with less or no pain, and resumption to work with in one week.

Gall-Bladder Stones

Hernia is weakness of muscle leading to swelling which reduces while lying down and comes back on standing or coughing or lifting any thing. Sometimes this swelling becomes non-reducible if hernia is left for long time and then it requires urgent surgery.

Hernia can happen any where in the body but most common sites are inquinal region just above the thigh (inguinal hernia), around umbilicus (umbilical hernia) and at surgical area of some surgery done previously (incisional hernia).

Hernia requires repair of defect with mesh. This surgery is also done with laparoscope with all the same advantages like-tiny holes, minimal or no pain and early resumption to work.

Intestinal & Other Organs
Other diseases like tumour in stomach, intestine, kidney, pancreas, adrenal gland etc. can all be managed with laparoscope.
Appendix

Appendix It is a vestigial organ present on the right side of lower abdomen attached to intestine. When there is swelling in this organ it leads to severe pain on right lower side of abdomen. It is diagnosed with blood tests and ultrasound and some times with CT-scan abdomen.

Treatment again is surgery which is also done with laparoscope.

Robotic Surgery
Robotic surgery is a type of laproscopy surgery where surgeon sits in console and guides the movements of a robotic arm. This surgery is more commonly done for cancer or urology problems.
