Gall bladder it is an organ present below the liver, it helps in storage of bile which helps in the digestion of fat taken in food. Most common problem or disease of gall bladder is presence of single or multiple stones of varying sizes. If there are multiple stones then surgery is must. But in solitary stones it depends whether stone is causing some problem or not and if the person is suffering from any other disease.
Common symptoms of Gall bladder stones are dyspepsia (acidity), pain on the right side of upper abdomen, jaundice.
This can be diagnosed most of the time with ultrasound, MRCP and some blood tests.
Treatment of this is surgery requiring removal of gallbladder along with stones. This surgery most of the time is done by laparoscope as the advantages are same as that of any other laparoscopic surgery like- tiny cuts with less or no pain, and resumption to work with in one week. |
